SMTH International Vision

SMTH was founded in France, but our ambition extends beyond national borders.

We believe that safety, competence, and passion for the underwater world have no nationality. Each country develops its own methods, shaped by its history, environment, and constraints. No approach is perfect. Each one has strengths from which others can learn.

Our aim is not to export a French model or to claim that we possess the best way of working.

SMTH seeks to become a partner capable of bringing together professionals from different cultures around a shared ambition: to carry out underwater operations that are safer, more efficient, and more respectful of the women and men who perform them.
Our contribution is built around three complementary dimensions.

Regulatory Dimension

Sharing good practices in operational organisation, risk assessment, documentation, and safety culture, while understanding the specific regulatory requirements of each country.

Safety Dimension

Exchanging knowledge on emergency procedures, team preparation, equipment maintenance, communications, lessons learned, and methods designed to reduce operational risks.

Operational Dimension

Comparing experience in marine civil engineering, metallurgy, inspection, non-destructive testing, ROV operations, photogrammetry, and hyperbaric works in order to collectively improve working methods.
